April 28, 2008 - Do you ever get tired of tossing the same boring fireball over and over again in massively multiplayer online games? Funcom is trying something a little different in Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, an MMOG set in Robert E. Howard's sword-and-sorcery fantasy realm that's getting ready to release at the end of May. The system is called spellweaving, and it gives the game's spellcasting classes a way to significantly alter the way they deal damage while simultaneously risking their virtual lives. Those were my words – or at least my thoughts – when my group made it to the last area in the Sanctum of the Burning Souls, and all that was left before us was a huge set of narrow stairs leading up to a immense crumbling stone structure. Feelings of dread, excitement, and the anticipation of finding spoils ahead were making my heart beat with ever-growing rapidity. Nothing says ominous like a long set of rising stairs. |

Every now and then, we rummage around and find some cool stuff on the way, and we just can’t resist sharing it.
For example, we were digging around the various arcane folders in our virtual haunted library and stumbled upon a video from some of the developers, obviously captured while they were working on something.

Friday Update - Caster Screenshots |

They finally tossed casters a bone (albeit a small one) by adding 4 new screenshots to the database which we have graciously uploaded to our site. With release so close and caster info so scarce, it's beginning to worry us here at CU as to the actual progress and polish casters will have opening day. We shall stay optimistic and watch closely over the coming weeks. |

Class sections are currently under development and your input could shape the future of what kind of information is easily accesible to your fingertips. The idea is to allow an easy page to navigate so that all information related to each class can be found on one simple page. Most of the links are not available since we have no idea what the class feats, spells, gear, etc are yet but take a look around and drop us some suggestions. |
